What is The Academy?
The Academy is a 10-week program that equips community members with the skills they need to plan, start, and grow their own small businesses. The Academy helps neighbors create a sustainable economic engine for their families and community. In an effort to remove many of the typical barriers to entrepreneurial training, The Academy is offered in a variety of locations across Nashville, Murfreesboro, and Antioch. While valued at $7,200+, we keep the program intentionally affordable thanks to our donors, offering The Academy for $160.
Since its inception, The Academy has graduated over 1,400 entrepreneurs, each in various stages of small business ownership. And 88% of our Academy graduates are Black women.
Program Impact
In 2024 alone, our entrepreneurs were responsible for generating $37.2 million to put back into the neighborhood economy here in Nashville, according to SBA data.
Since 2016, we have graduated 1,432 underestimated entrepreneurs from The Academy
